COUPLES & FAMILY THERAPY AT SELF REFLECTIONS
relationship therapy offers a space for
understanding, curiosity, repair
and meaningful change
Relationships can be deeply meaningful, but also complex, layered, and at times painful. When patterns repeat, communication breaks down, or disconnection grows, it can feel difficult to find a way forward on your own.
At Self Reflections, couples and family therapy offers a space to slow things down and begin to understand what is happening beneath the surface. Together, we explore the patterns, experiences, and dynamics shaping your relationship, creating the opportunity for greater clarity, repair, and change.
Early sessions focus on building understanding, exploring communication patterns, emotional responses, and the ways past experiences may be influencing how you relate to one another. This creates a shared foundation, helping each person feel heard, understood, and more grounded in the process.
As therapy progresses, the work may involve developing new ways of communicating, navigating conflict with greater awareness, and strengthening emotional connection. Where needed, this may also include exploring deeper relational patterns and supporting repair in a way that feels steady and respectful.
Change is approached with care and pacing, allowing space for both individual insight and relational growth to unfold over time.
Relationship therapy is a collaborative process that considers each person’s experience, as well as the dynamic that exists between you.
WHAT TO EXPECT

connection is not about getting it right,
but about staying present, even when it feels hard

the
process
Our approach to couples and family therapy is structured, while remaining flexible to your needs.
Initial sessions focus on understanding the relational landscape, often including both joint and individual sessions. This allows space for each person’s perspective, while also building a shared understanding of the relationship dynamic.
From here, therapy is guided by your goals and readiness, with sessions designed to support meaningful and sustainable change within the relationship.

different
phases
Assessment Phase: Our therapy begins with a comprehensive 90-minute joint session to outline the relational landscape. This is followed by individual 50-minute sessions, allowing each participant to voice personal experiences and views. The phase concludes with another joint 90-minute session to establish a collaborative treatment plan.
Treatment Phase: Depending on the assessed needs, sessions will extend for either 90 minutes or 1 hour and 50 minutes, focusing on practical applications of therapeutic techniques to real-life relationship scenarios.
