A DBT SKILLS GROUP

Do you ever feel like your emotions come in overwhelming waves, leaving you exhausted or unsure how to cope? Do you find yourself reacting impulsively, withdrawing, or struggling to stay steady when life gets stressful? You’re not alone.

 

Do you ever feel like your emotions come in overwhelming waves, leaving you exhausted or unsure how to cope? Do you find yourself reacting impulsively, withdrawing, or struggling to stay steady when life gets stressful? You’re not alone.

 

Riding the Waves is a supportive 5-week program designed to teach practical skills from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help you:

 

  • Manage intense emotions without feeling controlled by them.

  • Develop healthier coping strategies for stress and distress.

  • Strengthen resilience and emotional balance.

  • Connect with others who understand what it’s like to ride life’s ups and downs.

 

 

This group is facilitated by Klaudia Gebert, Principal Psychologist, and Megan Mulcahy, Provisional Psychologist, in a safe and structured setting.

 

 

 

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - EARLY 2026 INTAKE

 

This form is an Expression of Interest for our next Riding the Waves group, which we are planning to run in early 2026 (likely on Friday afternoons or early evenings).

 

By submitting this form, you’ll be the first to know once dates and registration open. Completing this form helps us plan group numbers and ensures you’ll have priority access when enrolments officially open.

 

Program Details (subject to confirmation):

 

  • 5-week in-person program

  • Held at Innovation Campus, North Wollongong

  • Medicare rebates available under a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)

  • Open to all adults (all genders)

 

 

Places will remain limited to maintain a safe and supportive group environment.

 

We’ll be in touch as we begin planning for 2026 to confirm your interest and next steps.

The Riding the Waves program is designed for adults seeking support to manage emotions, build resilience, and develop DBT-based coping strategies.

Group Logistics & Preferences

Payment & Commitment

Completing this form does not commit you financially, it simply registers your interest so we can contact you when the next group opens for registration.


The Riding the Waves program is a 5-week skills-based group.


Once dates are confirmed, participants will be able to claim Medicare rebates with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and will be responsible for a $40 gap per session.


Please note: A single MHTP allows access to 10 Individual and 10 Group Therapy sessions - one does not take away sessions from the other.
